Samsung cloud onedrive3/18/2023 How are you planning to use OneDrive on your Galaxy phone? Are you using OneDrive to backup media or opting for Google Photos to get the job done? Users can ignore other Microsoft apps on their Galaxy phones, but we would highly advise exploring the OneDrive add-on to sync all the photos and videos with the Photos app on Windows. It’s the OneDrive that gets special treatment with the Gallery integration. Other Microsoft apps work as standard on your Galaxy phone. You can easily remove OneDrive from your Galaxy phone. If you are running low on device storage, you can select Free up phone space and go to Gallery settings. Similar to Google Photos, OneDrive offers an option to free up phone space. We would recommend using Wi-Fi only as some videos from your Gallery can reach up to a couple of GBs in size and it will drain the cellular data in no time. You have an option to sync media on Wi-Fi or mobile data. Step 4: It will ask you to connect your Samsung and Microsoft accounts. Step 2: Tap on the hamburger menu at the bottom and select Settings. To start syncing, you need to sign in with your OneDrive account in the Gallery app. ![]() Find the Microsoft folder and you will see the OneDrive app. Google One subscriptions come with storage that can be used across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos (for Original quality photos). Simply swipe up from the home screen and open the app drawer. There is a dedicated Microsoft folder in the One UI app drawer menu. OneDrive is primarily useful for backing up photos and videos on mobile phones. OneDrive offers 5GB storage for free, and you can increase it to 1TB using Microsoft 365 subscription. The service comes integrated on the Windows 10/11 OS. Similar to iCloud, Dropbox, and Google Drive, OneDrive allows you to store any file. Samsung confirmed that all of your Samsung Cloud data will be deleted after November 30th, removing any ability to download it.OneDrive is a cloud-storage service from Microsoft. It’s important to get a head start on this now, instead of waiting around for the last minute. Those who currently pay for a Samsung Cloud subscription will see their plans canceled on October 1st and will issue a refund to those customers who have pre-paid for storage. Instead, you’ll need to simply manually download all of your data and then move it to whatever cloud service that you want. After that point, the data migration tool will no longer be available. Samsung also states that you’ll need to move your data over to Microsoft OneDrive before October 1st. ![]() Beginning on, Gallery Sync and Drive storage for My Files will no longer be supported by Samsung Cloud and your data will be deleted. To make sure we provide our customers enough time to migrate or download their data, we have decided to postpone the final end of features date an extra 3 months from the originally announced date. In an email provided by Android Central, Samsung states the following: However, Samsung has started sending out emails to customers stating that users will have an extra three months before Samsung’s cloud services will shut down. Originally, the “shut-off” point was scheduled to be August 31st for these features to be removed. This is another integration with Microsoft services, as we’ve seen the two companies working more closely together. To help in the transition, Samsung created a migration tool so you can move your files from Samsung Cloud to Microsoft’s OneDrive. Late last year, Samsung announced that Samsung Cloud would be shutting down, including features such as Gallery Sync and Drive storage for the My Files app.
